In July 2022, the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022 (the 2022 Act), which amends the Act to implement the EU Whistleblowing Directive, was signed into law and is expected to be commenced in stages before the end of this year. The Act (as amended by the 2022 Act) now goes beyond the requirements of the EU Whistleblowing Directive and further strengthens Ireland’s already comprehensive whistleblowing regime.
